Books have always been a big part of my life. I learned to read by reading comics, and after that, there was no stopping me! I grew up loving the stories of Lucy Maud Montgomery, Walter R. Brooks, Ruth Krauss, Maurice Sendak, Ludwig Bemelmans and Jean Little to name a few. As a young adult I fell in love with the writing of Somerset Maugham, Thomas Hardy, Dickens, Roald Dahl, Agatha Christie, P.D. James, Margaret Atwood, Robertson Davies — the list is long and it never ends! English and Art were always my favourite subjects in school. I drew cartoons and wrote lots of poems and short stories — not because I thought I would ever be published, but simply because it gave me so much joy. But somewhere along my travels I realized that I had stories inside me that I wanted to share with the world, instead of just sharing with friends or my bottom drawer. I started selling magazine gag cartoons and greeting cards and eventually I was fortunate enough to illustrate picture books! I kept submitting my writing to publishers and was so excited when I finally had my words as well as my art in print. I believe all artists create for themselves, but when readers tell me how much they love one of my books, it fills me up with so much joy.

I’ve illustrated humour books and lots of educational books. Listed below are my most recent children’s books — some illustrated by me, some written by me, and some written and illustrated by me! I enjoy illustrating other people’s words (as well as my own) and I find it very exciting to see another artist illustrate my own words. I’ve been very fortunate to try so many things in my creative journey.
